Zilliant, the Austin-based B2B pricing and revenue optimization vendor, launched agentic AI capabilities alongside what it describes as the industry's first Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server for pricing in October 2025. The MCP Server acts as a standardized connection layer, letting AI agents and enterprise systems pull pricing intelligence into their own workflows rather than requiring pricing data to live only inside Zilliant's own interface.\n\nThe release included three named agents — Approvals, Sales Agreement and Insights — aimed at automating tasks that traditionally ran through spreadsheets or manual deal-desk review. Zilliant has framed the push explicitly as an attempt to "end spreadsheet pricing," a message aimed at the large share of mid-market manufacturers and distributors still managing price lists and discount approvals outside any dedicated system.\n\nThe company followed up in January 2026 with a strategic product update announcement tied to a customer win with Julius Hoesch GmbH & Co. KG, a German industrial manufacturer, signaling continued momentum into the new year. Zilliant, which was acquired by Madison Dearborn Partners and has raised roughly $80 million to date, competes most directly with Vendavo, Pricefx and PROS in the enterprise B2B price optimization category.\n\nA 2025 Zilliant survey of 550 pricing professionals found that 97% were either actively investing in, evaluating or discussing pricing technology investments — a figure the company has cited as validation for the timing of its agentic AI push, though buyers should treat it as directional (a vendor-commissioned survey of its own market) rather than an independent benchmark.
