Salesforce holds its Gartner CPQ leadership as Agentforce moves into pricing

Salesforce's Revenue Cloud kept its Leader placement in Gartner's CPQ Magic Quadrant as the company pushes its Agentforce AI platform deeper into quoting and pricing workflows.

Salesforce was named a Leader in Gartner's 2025 and 2026 Magic Quadrant for CPQ Applications, with the company positioning the recognition as validation of Revenue Cloud's approach to unifying CPQ with the rest of its CRM and sales platform rather than treating pricing and quoting as a bolt-on module. Gartner's evaluation, led by analysts Luke Tipping and Mark Lewis, assesses vendors on product functionality, innovation, customer experience and overall market strategy across pricing, configuration, quoting workflows and revenue-lifecycle integration.

The placement lands as Salesforce pushes its Agentforce AI platform further into pricing-adjacent workflows — guided-selling recommendations, deal-desk automation, and AI-assisted discount approval sit squarely in the territory Salesforce has been expanding Agentforce's remit into, following the same industry-wide pattern already visible at Zilliant, Vendavo and Pricefx, all of which have shipped comparable agentic AI features into their own quoting and pricing products over the past year.

Salesforce's specific advantage in this race is distribution: Revenue Cloud CPQ sits inside the same platform as the CRM data most sales organizations already run through Salesforce, which removes an integration step that dedicated CPQ specialists still have to solve for every new customer. Whether that distribution advantage translates into deeper AI pricing capability, or simply faster adoption of comparable capability, is the open question analysts and competing vendors are both watching closely heading into the next Magic Quadrant cycle.

For enterprise buyers already standardized on Salesforce CRM, the practical calculus increasingly weighs platform consolidation (one vendor, one data model, faster time-to-value) against best-of-breed depth from specialists like Tacton or Vendavo in categories — complex product configuration, price optimization science — where a horizontal CRM-attached CPQ product has historically been less deep than a dedicated specialist.
