Gartner published its first Magic Quadrant for B2B Pricing and Rebate Optimization Software on April 13, 2026, formally recognizing the category as distinct from the broader Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) market it has covered for years.

The inaugural report evaluated 12 vendors, with Pricefx, Vistaar, and Conga all earning placement in the Leaders quadrant. Gartner's summary noted that demand for dedicated B2B pricing and rebate optimization solutions is rising as organizations seek to modernize pricing operations beyond what general-purpose CPQ tools can support, particularly around complex rebate programs, deal profitability analysis, and AI-guided discount governance.

The creation of a standalone Magic Quadrant is a significant signal to the software buying market: pricing and rebate optimization has matured into its own recognized category with sufficient vendor depth and differentiated capability to warrant dedicated analyst coverage, separate from adjacent categories like CPQ, revenue management, or general pricing analytics.
